Our Work
Everyone deserves access to breast healthcare. We're helping move toward a more equitable healthcare system specifically in breast care. Barriers exists and always will; we're here to help identify them and help overcome them in the breast health arena.

Mission
Breaking down barriers to breast health.:
At BOSOMii, our mission is to break down barriers to breast health by fostering inclusivity, providing equitable resources, and empowering individuals to navigate their unique health journeys with confidence and dignity. Through innovative programs, education, and partnerships, we aim to transform healthcare experiences, ensuring every person feels seen, supported, and celebrated
Vision
We want to live in a world where no one suffers from breast health conditions and everyone has access to breast health education, screening and care.

Our Core Values
-
To promote holistic breast health education, wellness, early detection and breast cancer prevention.
-
To empower individuals to be comfortable in their bodies.
-
Use humor to help enlighten some very dark topics, because laughter is good medicine.
-
To respect everyone's unique healthcare choices and encourage self-advocacy in healthcare.
We aim to be completely transparent about where our funds go. We have basic costs - to keep up the website, pay for insurance, to host as well as promote events to raise greater funds, and pay for postage to get items where they need to go, etc.
100% of our involvement is unpaid. You are not funding our salaries - we have day jobs and often are funding our own fundraisers. We rely heavily on donated products and time. We do appreciate your patience with us considering we all work 40+ hours a week and still have to be present in our personal lives. This is our passion project, we hope it inspires you too!
Our first year of fundraising provided a cash donation to offset the purchase of new Hologic 3D Mammography Units at the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital, Derby, Connecticut.
Going forward we have dedicated initiatives that we will continue to fund for as long as possible with your continued support. If you have an idea for how we can help please share it with us!
Current Initiatives

There are so many post operative care kits for breast cancer patients and that is wonderful! There aren't very many for other individuals who have had similar surgeries like gender affirming top surgery.
BOSOMii wants to be able to provide healing care packages for individuals who have taken that massive step in their transgender journey. Currently this program is being built and will be piloted at Griffin Hospital. Depending on it's success we would love to expand the same offering to other Connecticut Hospitals.
Please reach out to us directly at Hello@BOSOMii.com or fill out the online form to get one free of charge if you are undergoing top surgery.
The first step in reducing LGBTQ+ healthcare bias in hospitals is to celebrate patients of this demographic, we want to play a role in their recognition and help inspire others to admire the challenges they have had to overcome to get to a point where they are coming out of the OR.
Blue Footed Brewbies
A Support Flock for the Chest-Blessed & Gender-Bendy
Feeling a little under-caffeinated and emotionally underwired? Do you have boobs (or something adjacent), perhaps you have a complex relationship with them? Come join the Blue Footed Brewbies — a gender-expansive support group for anyone navigating life with a chest in a gender-diverse body.
We are meeting monthly at Yellow Kings Brew, where the coffee is strong, the vibes are tender, and the birds are metaphorical (mostly).
Whether you’re: Celebrating your chest, grieving it, binding it, flaunting it, tired of strangers assuming it defines you, or just want to drink an oatmilk latte with people who get it...You’re welcome here.
Expect: Casual convos, not clinical ones, gender-diverse solidarity, weird little jokes to soften the weird big feels, maybe stickers, definitely coffee! Named after the famously flamboyant blue-footed booby — a proud, awkward bird with a name it didn’t choose — we are here to celebrate the beautiful absurdity of living in a body, in public, in this timeline. All chest-havers welcome. Trans, nonbinary, intersex, cis, cis-questioning, and beyond. No dues, no drama, just mutual support and a good medium roast.
Last Sunday of each month beginning this September 9 am @ Yellow Kings Brew, Wallingford - wear your blue shoes so we know you're here for us!

The Annie Pringle Memorial Scholarship

Annie Pringle was an influential member of the breast health community who passed away too soon. Annie was so many things: a lactation consultant, breast cancer support group leader, mother, teacher, and more.
She left her body after her inflammatory breast cancer metastasized, but this scholarship will allow her legacy of uplifting and supporting others to live on.One of the biggest barriers to breast health is access to knowledgeable professionals and education. This scholarship aims to support students who are pursuing higher education in order to help individuals and the community facing breast concerns.

Tablets for Translation
We want to make sure that all patients can communicate to their healthcare providers effectively. It's one of our most important initiatives and if your facility needs help with translation services please contact us and we will do our best to provide you with the tools you need so all your patients can be heard. Likewise, if any information needs to be conveyed back to them, providers can explain exams, results and recommendations so that a dialogue can take place. Email Hello@BOSOMii.com to find out more.
