October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

That doesn't mean that breast cancer only occurs in October or that we should only talk about it during October. Earlier this year BOSOMii was born as a natural extension of the Light The Valley movement and the passion Sheila and I bring to our roles as breast navigators.

We have made it our mission to provide support, education and inspiration to anyone who has breast related concerns or inquires using medical knowledge and a touch of humor. The intent is to expand awareness about holistic breast health, body positivity, prevention of breast disease through early detection, and increasing survivorship. Of equal importance we want to empower everyone to be comfortable in their bodies and try to lighten up some very dark and dismal topics with humor.

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, that doesn’t mean only 1 in 8 women need to talk about their breast health. We all need to be aware of the state of our physical bodies regardless of gender, age or predisposition.

BOSOMii wants to break down any stigma associated with talking about breasts, chests, boobs – whatever you want to call what you have! We may explore health perspectives or healing paradigms that are not completely in line with the allopathic care model which has become standard practice here in the west. The information and support is always free – take it if it serves you, leave it if it doesn’t help.

We are developing an advisory team of lactation consultants, bra specialists, doctors and others in the breast heath arena so if we don’t know the answer to you question we will do our best to find out for you.

We're here to talk about breast health - all year long!
